Beach Plum Bakery & Café is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented **Assistant Baker** to join our team. Located on our working farm in West Cape May, our bakery is rooted in seasonal ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and a commitment to quality.

**Position Overview**

The Assistant Baker supports daily production in the bakery and café, working both independently and alongside the team to prepare a variety of baked goods. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and a passion for working with fresh, farm-driven ingredients.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Prepare and produce baked goods by hand, including quick breads, muffins, cookies, cakes, and pastries, following established and seasonal recipes
• Assist in reviewing daily production schedules to determine quantity and variety of items needed
• Organize and prepare ingredients, tools, and equipment for daily baking operations
• Receive and organize deliveries; assist with inventory and ingredient tracking (ability to lift up to 50 lbs required)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen workspaces, equipment, and utensils
• Monitor product quality and ensure proper handling and storage of all ingredients and finished goods
• Identify and report any issues with food quality, equipment, or supplies
• Complete production logs and kitchen records as required
• Assist with preparation of items for special dietary needs when necessary
• Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed

• Prior experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food production environment preferred
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to follow recipes with precision and consistency
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
