Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will be self-motivated and highly responsive in providing services to prospective School Choice families, Goodwin University Magnet School System (GUMSS), participating magnet schools, Open Choice districts, technical education

programs, Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) partners, and Connecticut State Board of Education (CSBE). The GUES Welcome Center, Bilingual Enrollment Specialist thrives in a collaborative team environment, also works independently to meet deadlines, and manages a wide range of responsibilities.

Salary $65,000 - 12 Month Position

  • Support recruitment, enrollment, and residency processes for all school choice options (magnet
  • schools, Open Choice, technical education programs, and RSCO) in collaboration with regional
  • partners.
  • Assist in marketing and outreach responsibilities as needed, including attending and participating
  • in weekly meetings with RSCO and Sheff Stakeholders
  • Generate, analyze, and maintain accurate data and reports across multiple platforms
  • (PowerSchool, EnrollWise, MS Office, Google Suite) to support recruitment strategies.
  • Serve as a primary contact for inquiries (chat, email, phone, text) and communicate departmental
  • procedures to staff and all families.
  • Provide individualized, bilingual (oral and written Spanish) support to families with application
  • processes (RSCO Lottery) and school choice options.
  • Conduct community outreach, attend/plan recruitment fairs and events, and provide on-site
  • application assistance.
  • Support daily Welcome Center operations, track services provided, and maintain accurate
  • records for required reports.
  • Provide translation services
  • Use standard office equipment and a work cell phone.
  • Travel is required, including the possible transport of the mobile classroom; a valid driver's
  • license and reliable transportation are necessary.
  • Supplement other Welcome Centers accessible to the public
  • Work holidays, occasional evenings, and weekends for extended hours during peak season
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

## Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree and bilingual written and oral Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Sheff Settlement and school choice is preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

Valid Driver’s License (required).

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Three years of experience in a school/education environment.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and presentation skills, with the ability
  • to build relationships and develop data collection systems.
