**Job Summary**

The Spa Director is responsible for the overall leadership, operation, and financial performance of the Spa. This position oversees daily operations, guest satisfaction, employee development, retail performance, budgeting, marketing initiatives, and regulatory compliance while ensuring exceptional service and a luxury spa experience for members and guests. The Spa Director fosters a positive work environment, promotes teamwork, and supports the mission, vision, and values of Rock Barn Golf & Spa.

**Job Description**

**Leadership & Management**

  • Direct and oversee all daily Spa operations.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, develop, and evaluate Spa employees.
  • Schedule staff to meet business demands while maintaining labor budgets.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Address employee performance concerns through coaching and corrective action when necessary.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional growth.

**Guest Experience**

  • Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered to every guest.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly, professionally, and courteously.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and implement improvements as needed.
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, appearance, and overall guest experience.
  • Ensure all treatments and services are performed according to established protocols.

**Financial Management**

  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
  • Monitor departmental revenues, expenses, payroll, and profitability.
  • Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to improve performance.
  • Oversee inventory control for retail products, professional products, linens, and supplies.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, billing, and daily financial reconciliation.

**Retail & Business Development**

  • Develop strategies to increase retail sales and service revenue.
  • Monitor retail inventory levels and merchandising displays.
  • Plan and coordinate promotions, seasonal offerings, and special events.
  • Build relationships with members and guests to encourage repeat business.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to promote Spa services, memberships, and special events.

**Operations**

  • Ensure compliance with all Spa policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Maintain equipment and facility maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and purchasing.
  • Ensure treatment rooms and common areas meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Monitor appointment scheduling and maximize service utilization.

**Compliance & Safety**

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain all required licenses and certifications.
  • Ensure OSHA, sanitation, and infection control standards are followed.
  • Promote a safe working environment for employees and guests.
  • Report accidents, injuries, or safety concerns promptly.

**Communication**

  • Maintain effective communication with Executive Management and other department leaders.
  • Work collaboratively with Membership, Food & Beverage, Golf, Events, and Accounting departments.
  • Communicate operational updates and departmental goals to Spa staff.

**Additional Responsibilities**

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all Spa services, products, packages, memberships, and promotions.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in Club events and promotional activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • **Qualifications**
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Spa or Hospitality management experience.
  • Strong leadership and employee development skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Financial management and budgeting experience.
  • Retail sales and inventory management experience.
  • Knowledge of Spa operations, scheduling software, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software.
