## Lube Technician

**Lube Technician**

**Department:** Service

**Reports To:** Service Manager / Shop Foreman

**Position Summary**

The Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This position assists in maintaining customer vehicles by performing oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections, fluid checks, and other basic maintenance services while ensuring compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.

The Lube Technician plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service by helping ensure vehicles are serviced correctly and returned to customers in a timely manner.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

  • Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform tire rotations and tire pressure checks.
  • Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to service advisors and management.
  • Check and replenish vehicle fluids, including engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, and transmission fluid as applicable.
  • Replace air filters, cabin filters, windshield wipers, and other maintenance-related components.
  • Inspect belts, hoses, batteries, lights, and other vehicle systems for wear or damage.
  • Maintain accurate repair orders and document services performed.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer, dealership, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including service bays and shop equipment.
  • Properly operate dealership equipment, tools, lifts, and machinery.
  • Follow all environmental and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
  • Assist technicians and other service personnel as directed.
  • Participate in dealership and manufacturer training programs.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Provide professional and courteous interactions with customers and coworkers.

**Physical Requirements**

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles with a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work around moving vehicles, machinery, chemicals, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to maintain alertness and awareness in an active automotive service environment.

## Qualifications
**Qualifications**

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous automotive maintenance experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic automotive knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
