## Description

**Overall Responsibility:**

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and performance of business applications through the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of quality assurance practices.

This role leads test strategy execution across the software development lifecycle, partners closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and support teams, and helps establish quality standards that reduce production defects and improve user experience.

The position combines hands-on testing with coordination, mentoring, and process improvement responsibilities to support the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

**This role is to be hired in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.**

**Duties:**

**QA Strategy, Planning & Risk Management**

  • End-to-end quality assurance activities for assigned applications, enhancements, integrations, and production releases.
  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and technical designs to identify test conditions, quality risks, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases with adequate coverage.
  • Perform risk-based testing and identify areas of instability, performance issues, security risks, or user impact.

**Test Execution, Validation & Data Integrity**

  • Execute manual testing (functional, integration, regression, system, smoke, exploratory, and UAT support).
  • Validate APIs, interfaces, data flows, and database transactions to ensure accuracy and interoperability.
  • Support test data management and ensure environment readiness for efficient execution.

**Automation, DevOps & Process Optimization**

  • Design, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts to improve coverage and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to align testing with CI/CD pipelines and release practices.
  • Promote QA best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement across tools and processes.

**Defect Management, Collaboration & Reporting**

  • Coordinate defect triage: log, prioritize, reproduce, document, and track issues through resolution.
  • Work closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify defects, validate fixes, and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide test status reporting, defect metrics, and go/no-go recommendations for release readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, change management, and security standards.

**UAT Support, Monitoring & Team Contribution**

  • Support user acceptance testing by preparing scenarios, coordinating execution, and documenting results.
  • Monitor application quality post-deployment; analyze incidents and support root-cause analysis.
  • Mentor junior QA team members on testing practices and documentation standards.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.

## Qualifications
**Education and Experience:**

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, testing, or application validation in an IT or software development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience testing web applications, enterprise systems, APIs, and integrated solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, Bugzilla, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with test automation tools/frameworks (for example Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or comparable tools) is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for data validation, query execution, and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Exposure to performance testing, security testing, and/or cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, or similar) is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA, or equivalent is desirable.
  • **Bilingual (Spanish/English) required**

**Skills:**

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze requirements critically and translate them into structured, traceable, and risk-based test coverage.
  • Strong knowledge of testing types including functional, regression, system, integration, exploratory, API, performance, and user acceptance testing support.
  • Excellent defect identification, documentation, and follow-through skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to organize workloads, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and leadership capabilities to influence quality outcomes across cross-functional teams without compromising deadlines or standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools for status communication and documentation.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, process improvement, and delivering a high standard of quality.
