### **Surgical Technologist**

Stewart Memorial Hospital & Clinics is seeking a skilled and motivated **Surgical Technologist** to support our surgical services team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring procedures run safely and efficiently while delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients of all ages.

### **Position Summary**

Under the supervision of the department manager, the Surgical Technologist prepares surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, and assists physicians during procedures. This role is essential in maintaining a sterile, organized, and patient-focused surgical environment.

### **Responsibilities**

• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and procedure trays
• Assist physicians during surgical procedures and examinations
• Monitor patient condition during procedures and report changes promptly
• Clean and prepare operating/procedure rooms between cases
• Stock and manage supplies to ensure readiness for procedures
• Respond to trauma code calls and assist with emergency situations
• Transport patients as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance
• Support care for patients across all age groups—from neonatal to geriatric
• Participate in on-call rotation after regular department hours

### **Requirements**

• Graduate of a recognized **Surgical Technologist Program**
• Current **BLS certification**
• Strong clinical awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
• Commitment to patient safety, privacy, and compassionate care
