**Schedule/Hours:**

**Full-time; 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM**

**Monday – Friday**

**This position is responsible for:**

Under the direction of the Social Services Manager I, Intake Coordinator serves as the first line of communication between clients and case managers, whether it’s on the phone or in person. Provides administrative support to the Social Service Program by undertaking a broad scope or responsibilities to facilitate smooth and efficient functions within the Social Services Office. Performs work of a confidential nature; ensure the accomplishment of the various office tasks in the most efficient and effective manner, ensure office operations follow established Salvation Army policies and procedures. Responsible for screening telephone calls inquires and/or questions; gives information about Salvation Army Social services and provide appropriate referrals to community agencies when necessary. Conducts intake interviews to determine eligibility for all EMAST programs offered at the Solomon G. Brown Center and ensures clients have accurate documents for interviews. Maintain and update community resources list. Responsible for general office management including regular ordering of supplies and coordinating the servicing of general office machines (printer, copier, etc.). Responsible for the upkeep of the lobby, work room, and organization of ingoing and outgoing mail for Social Service Staff and clients

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide administrative support to the Social Services Manager I and employees; effectively and efficiently coordinate daily office operations to include ordering answer, screen, and direct all calls to the appropriate destination, schedule appointments for all social service programs, photocopies, collates, and staples all required documents from clients; records and complete messages when necessary; receive and receipts deliveries and donations, performs routine clerical work such as typing and filing office supplies, maintaining inventory, processing purchase requisitions;

**Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:**

  • Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, lifting and carrying (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts, occasionally work is performed off-site and can be associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

## WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

  • Associate degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field. **AND**
  • One year experience working in a social service setting performing administrative support. **OR**
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • **Licenses and Certifications:**
  • Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements.
