Housing Monitor & Security Safety Officer (7010)

## ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

**Schedule/Hours: 12AM-8AM with some 4PM-12AM shifts**

**This position is responsible for:**

Monitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army emergency housing program; guards the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with shelter rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Monitors client's behavior and activities to ensure compliance with program, and facility rules guidelines; directs clients in a trauma-informed way of the appropriate behavior in order to stay in the program/facility.
• Provides security for the building and grounds by being aware of activities happening in residential dorms
• Performs intake for clients checking into the shelter, maintains an accurate record of the shelter intake bed list.

**Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:**

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (less than 25 – 50lbs,) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderately mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, waking on a frequent change basis.

Work is performed in a normal social service housing and office environment where there are moderate discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

## WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required, **AND**
• six months experience working with the public with experience work in a security or social service environment preferred **OR**
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• **Licenses and Certifications:**
• First Aid and C.P.R. Certification, Narcan training
