# Maintenance Technician

**Reports to:** Operations Director

**Employment Type:** Full-Time

**Compensation:** Starting at $20.00 per hour or more, depending on experience

## Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining Mission Mountain Empowerment’s facilities in a safe, functional, and professional condition. This position performs preventive maintenance, repairs, remodeling, and general upkeep across multiple locations.

The Maintenance Technician works closely with employees, management, contractors, and vendors to identify facility needs and complete projects efficiently.

## Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and follow schedules for routine and preventive facility maintenance.
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Troubleshoot and complete repairs involving electrical, plumbing, heating, carpentry, and other building systems.
  • Perform general repairs, painting, remodeling, and facility improvement projects.
  • Prioritize and respond to maintenance work orders, addressing urgent concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and time spent.
  • Complete and submit maintenance checklists and reports to management.
  • Obtain bids from contractors and suppliers for specialized repairs and projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors when outside services are required.
  • Communicate with employees and departments regarding maintenance needs and project timelines.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures, building requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Perform other facility-related duties as assigned.

## Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, remodeling, and general repair practices.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for travel between Mission Mountain Empowerment locations.

## Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in facility maintenance, construction, property management, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating projects with contractors and vendors.

## Qualifications

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Experience

  • Experience in general facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing preventive maintenance tasks and managing maintenance schedules.
  • Experience in working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical, plumbing, heating, and remodeling tasks.
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance and repairs is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of general facilities management and contracting.
  • Proficiency in performing electrical, plumbing, heating, and remodeling tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and submit checklists in a timely manner.
  • Ability to review work orders, obtain bids, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear updates on maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
  • Commitment to ensuring a safe and functional environment for individuals with disabilities and staff.
