**The Opportunity**: The **Prep Cook** is responsible for supporting kitchen operations through the efficient preparation of ingredients and basic food items while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and food safety. This role ensures chefs and line cooks have the necessary components ready for service, contributing to smooth, timely execution and an exceptional dining experience for members and guests. The Prep Cook plays a vital role in maintaining consistency and organization within the kitchen.

**Duties & Functions**

  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes and production lists, including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and measuring
  • Assist in the preparation of sauces, stocks, dressings, and other foundational items
  • Maintain proper labeling, dating, and storage of all prepared food items in accordance with food safety standards
  • Ensure all prep areas, equipment, and utensils are clean, sanitized, and organized
  • Follow established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store deliveries to maintain freshness and quality
  • Assist line cooks and chefs during service as needed
  • Monitor inventory of prep items and notify supervisors when supplies are low
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Support opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and deep cleaning tasks
  • Adhere to all health department regulations, safety procedures, and club policies

**Qualification Standards**

  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling procedures
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
