**The Opportunity**: The **Fitness Center Supervisor** is responsible for managing the daily operations of the club’s fitness facility, including the supervision of staff, oversight of facility maintenance, and direct engagement with members through fitness classes and personal training. This hands-on role ensures a clean, safe, and motivating environment that supports the health and wellness goals of club members.
**Duties and Functions:**
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and overall upkeep of the fitness center, including cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance.
- Lead fitness classes and provide personal training sessions tailored to individual member needs.
- Supervise, schedule, and support fitness staff, including trainers and class instructors.
- Deliver high-quality customer service, responding to member inquiries and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Monitor the condition of fitness equipment; coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Implement and promote group wellness programs and special fitness events.
- Maintain accurate records of class participation, training sessions, and member feedback.
- Ensure staff compliance with club policies, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Train and onboard new fitness staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
- Collaborate with club leadership to align fitness initiatives with broader club goals.
**Qualification Standards:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field preferred.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
- Nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM) required.
- Group fitness certification (e.g., AFAA, Les Mills, Yoga Alliance) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in fitness instruction and facility supervision, preferably in a private club or hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead classes and train clients across a range of fitness levels.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a passion for health and wellness.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and motivating workout environment.
- Proficiency with fitness scheduling and member management systems is a plus.
- Fitness/trainer certificate required (or ability to obtain one no more than 6 months after employment starts)
