Industrial Custodian

## Description

The custodial staff at Merrell Bros., Inc. plays a very important role in helping improve and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in our mechanical shop. Cleaning, maintenance, and organizational experience preferred.

**Responsibilities**

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by removing trash, cleaning equipment & tools, and cleaning/dusting surfaces
• Sweep/mop floors and vacuum carpets; use of industrial floor scrubber
• Pressure washing bays
• Fueling Fleet Vehicles
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
• Wipe mirrors and windows
• Maintain outer premises by cleaning entrances, emptying trash receptacles
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed (fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
• Report major damages to management
• Assist with other tasks to improve the overall efficiency

• **Salary:** 16.00 to 20.00 / Hour

## Qualifications

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment
• Experience driving fork truck
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Able to lift 50 lbs; consistent heavy lifting
• The list of responsibilities covers the majority of the work to be done but being flexible and being willing to take care of issues as they arise is very important

**Preferred**

• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
