About The Role

## Description
**Job Summary**
This position will provide instructional support to the chair, dean, and students.
**Essential Functions**

  • Teach courses offered in the Office Systems and Information Technology programs
  • Fulfill faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in Midland College Policy and Administrative Regulations published in the Faculty and Employee Handbooks
  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of all classroom and lab equipment
  • Prepare and communicate clear educational objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to the students
  • Work with representatives of local businesses to further the program and enhance the instructional resources
  • Attend advisory committee meetings
  • Participate in recruiting and counseling activities
  • Work may require split day and evening work schedule
  • Other duties as assigned

**Physical Demands**

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus
  • This position may require occasional travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Office and classroom setting
  • This position may require a split workday and/or an evening work schedule

## Qualifications
**Required Qualifications**

  • Associate's degree or equivalent with three years of directly related experience
  • Computer literate with experience in the latest version of MS Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with PC hardware, including installation of operating systems, system backup, and "ghosting" of hard drives
  • Communication skills with public speaking and organization skills
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College's insurance policy

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with MAC hardware
