**Job Title:** Lead Teacher
**Supervisor:** Assistant Program Director
**FLSA Status:** Exempt

**Summary**
An effective Lead Teacher manages school operations and provides strong leadership to teachers and staff members under the supervision of the facility Assistant Program Director. The ideal candidate will work closely with the facility Assistant Program Director by taking suggestions and discussing the educational needs of each individual student. Our Lead Teacher will be responsible for ensuring all instructional staff meets all program goals and requirements and that all staff has the necessary resources they need to meet all program curriculum requirements and ensure all unaccompanied children students’ needs are met.
**Essential Functions**
- Uphold our educational policies and integrate the common core government guidelines into each class curriculum.
- Create benchmarks for students and teachers and track progress towards those goals.
- Develop programs that improve teacher performance and assist students in understanding class material better.
- Provide instructional leadership, direction, and feedback to education staff.
- Provide Job Training for all new staff members. Mentor all new Facilitators as per the Education program’s Coaching/Mentorship model.
- Adhere to the Sunny Glen Children’s Home policy and procedures, ORR policy, and guidelines.
- Provide guidance to the school’s network of student leaders and challenge those leaders to make the school a better place.
- Respond immediately to concerns from students, school administrators, or facilities managers.
- Model effective instructional strategies, ability to develop and evaluate teacher performance, and experience with a blended model to include computer-based classroom instruction.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish
- Other duties as assigned.
