Title: Seasonal Facilities Associate Groundskeeper

Status: Full-time; Seasonal

Location: Onsite

Reports To: Director of Facilities Safety and Security

Department: Facilities, Safety, & Security

Works With: Facilities Department, Departments on Campus Grounds

Onsite Start Date: April 6th, 2026 END: September 25th, 2026

Part Time Schedule: April & September, Monday-Friday (5) Day work week averaging 20 hrs

Full Time Schedule: May-August, Monday-Friday (5) Day work week averaging 40 hrs

Compensation: $24.00-27.00 per hour

Jacob’s Pillow seeks a Seasonal Facilities Associate Groundskeeper to join the Facilities Department and work closely with/report directly to the Facilities Manager. This position is entrusted with repairing and maintaining the landscape around the Pillow campus grounds, buildings, and facilities. Responsibilities include planting, mowing, weeding, raking, trimming and pruning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cutting and Maintaining Lawns and maintaining gravel pathways
  • Maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf and irrigation on campus
  • Fertilizing lawn, trees, flowers and shrubs, and spreading mulch.
  • Trimming trees, hedges and shrubs, and preventing and eliminating weeds.
  • Spring cleaning, Leaf blowing, raking and picking up leaves
  • Collecting litter and debris from campus grounds
  • Clear gravel out of grass and replaces in pathways
  • Maintains Lawn mowers and other groundskeeping tools
  • Keeping pathway drainage clear of debris
  • Spotting and reporting other potential hazards around the campus to Director of Facilities

## Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in groundskeeping, maintenance or skilled trade.
  • Proficient in using manual and power tools safely
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and visitors to the campus
  • Ability to anticipate complications and solve problems efficiently.
  • Organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Working regularly in wooded areas with exposure to native wildlife including, but not limited to, rodents, ticks and mosquitos
  • Working regularly outdoors in all weather conditions including inclement weather
  • Working a 5-day work week, including late evenings, and weekends.
  • Moving equipment up to 50lbs alone or with assistance
  • Moving through and between multiple locations throughout the entire campus
  • Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Working at heights above 6 feet
  • Ascending and descending straight and step ladders
  • Operating push around or drivable person lifts including at heights
