| **Primary Purpose Of The Position****:** Obstetrician/gynecologist will provide general medical care for women and care related to pregnancy and the reproductive system. Services include diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease for women and treatment and counseling women throughout pregnancy, from giving prenatal diagnoses to delivery and postpartum care. |

| **Minimum Qualifications****:** |

  • Maintain, in good standing, an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Maintain an unrestricted Federal Drug Enforcement Agency license.
  • Maintain board certification by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Remain in good standing as a member of the Medical Staff of Hospital.
  • Abide by the ethics of the medical profession and all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of professional medical theory, practice, and medical care to give and evaluate patient care;
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care;
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care;
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment;
  • Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques as a professional health care provider; in taking medical history to assess medical condition and interpret findings;
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence;
  • Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance, in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public;
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations;
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures and to communicate clearly.

| - \*Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients. |

| - \*Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed. |

| - \*Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. |

| - \*Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. |

| - \*Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. \*Administers medications and injections. Sutures minor lacerations. |

| - \*Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. |

| - \*Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education. \*Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. |

| - Physician shall supervise non-physician practitioners who provide patient care services at the Practice Site. |

| - Physician shall be responsible for complete, timely and accurate documentation of patient charts and medical records. |

| - Manages medical and surgical emergencies. |

| - \*Provides monitoring and continuity of care between visits. |

| - Per State Licensing guidelines, prescribe a formulary of medication. |

| - Physician shall participate in a call schedule, to provide 24/7 call coverage for patients. |

| - As Appropriate, provide workshops, seminars and presentations to other professionals and community. |

| - Develop and evaluate relevant patient education tools as appropriate. |

| - As appropriate, act as director or participant of special community programs and projects. |

| - Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient operation of the department. |

| - Adheres to all organizational policy and procedure as set forth in the WMCHC Policy and Procedure Manual, Human Resources Policy and Procedure Manual and Department policy & procedures. |
