## Qualifications
**Job Summary**
Senior Driver Settlement Specialist ensures prompt and accurate weekly wage payments to Company Drivers by utilizing various payroll and settlement systems. This role audits, reconciles, and maintains driver payroll data, supports operational departments, and acts as a resource for troubleshooting payroll-related issues. The Senior Driver Settlement Specialist plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring strong communication with drivers and internal teams.
**Essential Job Functions**
- Manage weekly payroll processing for Company Drivers, maintaining multiple pay types and schedules
- Reconcile trip data daily to ensure payroll accuracy
- Maintain and update carrier files, including new hire setup, terminations, pay changes, tax updates, and direct deposit information
- Audit invoices and report discrepancies for approval or revision
- Calculate, reconcile, and process reimbursements, deductions, bonuses, paid time off, holidays, and other pay types
- Conduct daily audits of payroll data and a final audit before submission
- Perform detailed audits across multiple systems to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Assist in the training and re-training of internal team members as needed
- Act as a backup for the Driver Settlements Supervisor and support the settlement team in troubleshooting issues
- Manage scanning, indexing, correcting, and distributing billing and settlement documents
- Maintain electronic payroll records for audit readiness
- Communicate daily with drivers and managers to resolve payroll inquiries
- Support accounting, operations, and billing departments with requested data
- Suggest and help implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
**Qualifications**
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of payroll or accounts receivable experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting
- 4+ years of payroll or accounts receivable experience in the transportation industry
**Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- High attention to detail and strong auditing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing
- Ability to learn and navigate software platforms such as TMW and Paycom
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Ability to process high volumes of data under weekly deadlines
