## Description
**Job Summary**The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading critical aspects of the monthly financial close process
while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the Company's financial records. This role
serves as a technical accounting resource to the accounting team, reviews the work of staff accountants,
mentors junior team members, and partners with leadership to improve financial reporting and accounting
processes. This position offers a clear path toward Accounting Manager for individuals who demonstrate
strong technical accounting expertise, leadership ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
**Essential Job Functions**• Own assigned portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, coordinating
close activities and workload priorities across the accounting team to ensure deadlines are met
and financial reporting is timely and accurate.

  • Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries.
  • Review journal entries prepared by Staff Accountants for accuracy, completeness, and

compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

  • Prepare assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review reconciliations prepared by

Staff Accountants, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.

  • Review assigned portions of the monthly financial statements for completeness and accuracy and

investigate significant variances.

  • Prepare financial analyses and communicate results to accounting leadership and operational

business partners.

  • Prepare and analyze cash flow forecasts while identifying significant trends and potential risks.
  • Manage accounting for fixed assets, including maintaining GAAP and tax depreciation records.
  • Prepare and monitor intercompany transactions and allocations.
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for the department by applying GAAP and internal

accounting policies to assist in resolving complex accounting issues.

  • Serve as a day-to-day resource and mentor for Staff Accountants by providing technical guidance,

coaching, and feedback.

  • Assist with onboarding and training new accounting team members.
  • Lead preparation of assigned audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors within assigned functional areas.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and support compliance with

company accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and lead assigned accounting process improvement initiatives from design through
  • implementation, including opportunities for automation, standardization, enhanced internal
  • controls, and greater consistency across the accounting function.
  • Participate in ERP implementations, system upgrades, acquisitions, and integration projects.

## Qualifications
**Required Education and Experience**

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or higher
  • 3+ years of working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

**Preferred Education and Experience**

  • Master of Accounting or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience in the transportation & leasing industry preferred
