**POSITION SUMMARY**

The Galvanizer sets up, operates, and tends hot-dip galvanizing equipment to immerse steel parts in molten zinc for corrosion protection. • Pickle and/or spin parts to remove excess zinc, including nonstandard or unique parts as proficiency increases
  • Immerse product in cleaning and coating solutions for specified times; remove and inspect for conformance to specifications
  • Clean dross from the zinc tank and pit; safely add chemicals and zinc in the appropriate amounts
  • Determine whether galvanizing on a part or batch meets specification; troubleshoot causes of inadequate galvanizing as skill develops
