## Automotive Lot Person

POSITION SUMMARY

Receive, move, and park vehicles, equipment, and other items from/to designated areas of lot, service bays and body shop. Maintain lot in a neat and orderly manner.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  •  Maintain lot in a neat and orderly fashion by moving vehicles: to fill empty parking spots, to
  • keep vehicles facing in designated direction according to lot plan, and to keep vehicles away
  • from customer parking areas.
  •  Inspect vehicles on lot for open windows and lock boxes. Close open windows and report open
  • lock boxes to manager.
  •  Receive and mark vehicles using identification stock tags, lock boxes, window stickers and
  • Buerkle license plates.
  •  Examine and inspect new vehicles for unexplained mileage and defects, reporting any excess
  • mileage or damage to supervisor. Prepare Check-In sheets and give to car billers.
  •  Prepare used vehicles for inventory by completing Get Ready sheets, moving cars with
  • mechanical problems to service bays, and moving vehicles with cosmetic problems to body
  • shop.
  •  Prepare certified vehicles by appropriating window stickers, installing license plates on
  • vehicles, and adding any Point of Sale items to vehicles.
  •  Prepare vehicles for delivery by removing stickers from glass, washing exteriors and adding gas
  • to vehicles as needed.
  •  Verify physical inventory count by locating and recording vehicles, then investigating
  • discrepancies as determined by car biller.
  •  Assist with the removal of snow and ice from vehicles, parking areas, walkways and driving
  • lanes.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Education: Less than high school education
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary

Computer Skills

Familiar with basic computer skills.

Certificates & Licenses

Valid driver's license.

Other Requirements

  • Must meet and maintain standards for driver acceptability as determined by insurance company utilized
  • by dealership. Other duties as assigned by manager(s) including occasionally delivering vehicles
  • to/from other dealers.
