About The Role

## Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

The **Certified Medication Aide (CMA)** provides direct resident care and administers medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The CMA assists with activities of daily living **(ADLs)**, monitors residents for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions, and ensures compliance with Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services **(KDADS)** regulations and facility policies.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

  • Administer prescribed medications in accordance with Kansas CMA regulations and facility policies.
  • Accurately document medication administration, resident responses, and any adverse effects.
  • Assist residents with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff.
  • Ensure the safe storage, handling, and disposal of medications.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Assist with treatments, dressing changes, and other delegated nursing tasks.
  • Provide compassionate, resident-centered care while promoting dignity and independence.
  • Maintain a clean, organized medication cart and work area.
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and confidentiality procedures.

## Qualifications
**Qualifications & Requirements**

  • Current Kansas Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in good standing with KDADS.
  • Current Kansas Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with resident transfers.
  • Must pass a background check and health screening, including TB testing.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.

**Work Environment**

  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout shifts.
  • May involve exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
