About The Role

## Description

**Job Summary:**

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting trailers between designated locations in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with doubles endorsement and a current medical card. The driver will work a night shift schedule from Sunday through Thursday, with start times in the late afternoon or evening and shifts ending in the early morning.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

  • Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to shuttle trailers between locations as assigned.
  • Hook up and disconnect trailers, including lowering the trailer jack and securing the 5th wheel.
  • Safely maneuver and position a converter dolly weighing approximately 3,500 lbs. by pushing or pulling.
  • Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as company policies and safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues or needed repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records, including trip logs and inspection reports, as required by DOT and company policy.
  • Safely navigate various road and weather conditions during night shifts.
  • Perform continual sitting for extended periods and climb in and out of the truck multiple times per shift.

## Qualifications
**Qualifications:**

  • Valid Class A CDL with doubles endorsement.
  • Current DOT medical card.
  • Clean driving record with a strong safety history.
  • Ability to safely maneuver and position a 3,500 lb. converter dolly.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to schedule requirements.

**Work Environment:**

  • Night shift schedule: Sunday through Thursday, starting in the late afternoon/evening and ending early morning.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, snow, and ice.
  • Requires prolonged sitting and frequent climbing in and out of the truck.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver a 3,500 lb. converter dolly.
  • Ability to lower trailer jacks and hook up a 5th wheel.
  • Frequent climbing in and out of the truck.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
