**Job Summary**
The overall purpose of the **Central Supply Technician** position is to establish order and maintain par levels of necessary supplies needed in the facility. At times, this position may provide clinical and administrative support to the nursing department.
## Qualifications
**Essential Functions:**
- Maintains established par levels of supplies necessary to meet the Patients/Residents needs
- Always maintains Central Supply in an organized and clean manner
- Makes supplies available 24-hours a day including weekends. Supplies normally utilized on a day-to-day basis must be made available in the medication room.
- Must inventory items placed in the medication room each morning and prior to the end of his/her shift to re-stock any items utilized
- Must place orders for medical supplies weekly based on the assigned schedule avoiding additional shipping costs
- Make arrangements for supplies and equipment for new admissions as needed
- Order Over the Counter Medications to maintain a par level of each for one months supply based on utilization
- Purchase Over the Counter Medications from community pharmacy for items not in inventory and ordered by physician for a new admission
- Work with the Executive Director/Director of Nursing to stay within budget by completing the Budget Control Worksheet with the date, vendors, and dollar amount to include tax and shipping if available
- Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network's Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it
- Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with patient/resident Care Management Systems
- Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of one-year experience in central supply within a long-term care setting is preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medication Aide preferred.
- Accurate typing skills of 40 wpm or more are needed.
- Computer literacy is mandatory
- Ability to read, speak, and write the English language.
