Drayage Fleet Manager

## Description

The Drayage Fleet Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with qualified customers and independent contractors. This position will also be responsible for coordinating movements, servicing independent contractor needs, and ensuring movements are conducted in a safe and ethical manner.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

• Maintain a positive and productive relationship with drivers
• Schedule and dispatch drivers
• Be the primary communications link to drivers, including load information, maintenance coordination, and performance counseling
• Responsible for assigned fleet of tractors and drivers, including but not limited to effective management for optimum performance in the following categories:
• On-time pickup and delivery performance
• Out of route miles
• Hours of service compliance
• Driver availability
• Accommodation of special routing needs
• Cost controls
• Ensure that each driver has an adequate understanding of all details of customer and company expectations on each load at the point of dispatch and delivery
• Daily accounting of all assigned trucks and drivers
• Provide up to date and accurate information to customers as necessary

## Qualifications
**QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:**

• 1+ year(s) of career experience
• Fleet Management experience is preferred
• Strong computer skills
• The ability to multi-task, work in a fast pace environment, be detail oriented with strong written and oral skills while maintaining effective communication
• The ability to handle stressful situations in a non-confrontational, problem solving manner is required
