## Description

**Job Purpose**

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for completing payroll on a timely basis, ensuring that all earnings and deductions are accurate. The payroll specialist will be able to use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. They will also be responsible for completing certified payroll reports on a weekly basis, as well as monthly CCIP reports.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

  • Complete and submit weekly and biweekly payrolls for all four locations.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports weekly.
  • Prepare and submit CCIP reports monthly.
  • Gather information on hours worked for each employee
  • Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses, and commissions with the assistance of a computer system
  • Entering data into databases and spreadsheets
  • Performing account balance reconciliations and keeping PayCom up to date with this information.
  • Responding to payroll related inquiries and resolving problems
  • Preparing reports for senior management, finance department, etc.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll and financial matters
  • Great communications skills to interact with HR and senior management
  • Follow all company processes and procedures in accordance with the LSC Quality Management system to ensure that a quality product is maintained and delivered within the predetermined time and cost Attending required internal company meetings such as safety, departmental, scheduled daily and weekly meetings.
  • All employees are required to actively participate in the LSC Safety Program.
  • Be the forerunner in assuring customer satisfaction by meeting customer’s expectations while containing scope and cost creep.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

Required

  • Minimum of two years of accounting, payroll, or related experience
  • Previous hands-on payroll processing experience required, including certified payroll reporting
  • Strong MS Excel skills required, including experience using spreadsheets to enter, reconcile, review, and report payroll related data
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll and financial matters.

Preferred

  • Experience using Paycom or other payroll and timekeeping systems
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple locations or multiple states
  • Knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

**Education Requirements**

  • High School Diploma or GED, with minimum of 3 years office related experience, OR
  • Associate degree from an accredited college with 2 years working experience, or on the job training may substitute as equivalent

**Working Conditions**

  • Hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday and other times as required by the workload
