**Position Summary**

The Payroll Supervisor is a strategic and hands on leader responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations with precision, compliance, and insight. This role goes beyond processing payroll. It serves as a center of excellence for payroll strategy, analytics, tax compliance, and timekeeping optimization.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Payroll Operations**

  • Assist in overseeing full-cycle payroll processing for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Support by helping create and deliver payroll training programs for General Managers, leaders, and cross-functional partners across the organization
  • Educate stakeholders on payroll processes, timekeeping practices, compliance requirements, and system usage to ensure accuracy at the source

**Payroll Clerk Supervision**

  • Act as a mentor and coach to payroll staff, developing their technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities• Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and ownership within the payroll function
  • Provide real-time guidance and escalation support for complex payroll issues
  • Create and maintain training materials, job aids, and SOPs to standardize payroll-related practices across all locations – inform identify gaps and help solve.

**Payroll Analytics Assistance**

  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency. This is done while processing payroll data or by helping resolve issues that may arise.
  • Build and help maintain dashboards and reports for leadership visibility
  • Partner with Finance and HR to support forecasting, budgeting, and workforce analytics

**Payroll Tax Knowledge**

  • Ensure compliance with all payroll tax regulations, filings, and reporting requirements
  • Manage tax registrations, audits, and inquiries across multiple jurisdictions
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and proactively implement updates
  • Work with Field HR and Accounting as needed for Payroll tax expertise.

## Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., Paycom, ADP, Workday, ISolved)
  • Intermediate Excel/data analysis skillsCore Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of payroll compliance and tax regulations

  • Partners are held to their company payroll scorecards with progressive improvement or plans on how to coach.
  • Team members are developed, engaged, and continuously improving
  • Payroll data is leveraged as a strategic asset not just a transaction
  • Compliance risks are proactively identified and mitigated
  • Systems and processes are continuously optimized for efficiency

**Physical Requirements**

  • Sitting at a desk for extended periods the role is largely sedentary, involving computer use, data entry, and system navigation.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment such as keyboards, mice, and monitors, with minimal physical exertion.
  • Visual acuity to read screens, reports, and documentation, and to use optical devices if required (e.g., for data validation or system monitoring)
