The Personal Trainer supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Responsible for designing and delivering safe, effective, and individualized fitness programs that support members in achieving their health and wellness goals. The Personal Trainer provides professional instruction, motivation, and education on proper exercise techniques while fostering a positive and inclusive environment. This role upholds a high standard of member engagement, safety, and customer service, and works collaboratively to support the mission of promoting healthy living and overall well-being within the community.

Job responsibilities

• Represent the YMCA in a professional and positive manner at all times.
• Deliver safe, effective, and engaging personal training services to members.
• Build respectful and motivating relationships with clients and YMCA members.
• Promote an inclusive environment consistent with YMCA values.
• Follow all YMCA policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Communicate professionally and respond to messages within one business day.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and staff.
• Attend required trainings, meetings, and YMCA events as scheduled.
• Demonstrate teamwork, accountability, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Accept feedback and adapt training practices and procedures as needed.

## Qualifications

• Current up to date nationally recognized fitness credentials
• Must be 18 years or older and a high school graduate or equivalent
• Current CPR Certification, training offered
• Skill and knowledge of aerobic techniques and mechanics
• Training and teaching experience in aerobic and physical fitness
• Excellent member relation and customer service skills
• Professional image
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility in work schedule
• Maintain a valid drivers license
• Background check can not contain offenses restricted by state law
• Daytime availability required
