Instrument Fitter

## Description

• **Crew Leadership:** Supervise, mentor, and schedule internal technicians and third-party contractors.
• **System Installation:** Layout, cut, bend, and thread stainless steel, copper, and carbon steel tubing for pneumatic and electrical signal lines.
• **Blueprint Reading:** Interpret complex Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), loop diagrams, control narratives, and schematics.
• **Calibration & Testing:** Perform loop checks, calibrate instruments (transmitters, transducers, controllers), and pressure-test systems to guarantee zero-leak integrity.
• **Safety & Compliance:** Conduct daily safety meetings, perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and ensure OSHA and site-specific environmental standards are met.
• **Commissioning Support:** Assist engineering and integration teams with startup, troubleshooting, and validation of automated processes.

## Qualifications

Education & Qualifications

• **Experience:** Typically 5+ years of industrial or construction experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation.
• **Skills:** Expert proficiency with hand and power tools, tube benders, and calibration equipment.
• **Certifications:** NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Instrumentation credentials or equivalent military/technical training are highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at high elevations, and in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand motions, bending, and twisting.
