**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our compassionate, mission-driven healthcare team. As an Emergency Medicine Physician with Artesia General Hospital, you will be expected to practice evidenced based medicine in line with Hospital’s core values and mission/vision. **General Description:**

  • Hospital employed
  • Full time position is 14 shifts of 12 hours per month
  • Shifts are 7pm-7aa or 7pm-7am
  • Maintaining regular communication with hospital leadership and nursing directors to align departmental goals and strategies.

**Procedures required:**

Procedures include but are not limited to: Endotracheal intubation, central/arterial line placement, paracentesis/thoracentesis, arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, tube/needle/finger thoracotomy, ACLS, ATLS, chemical/electric cardioversion, closed fracture reductions, moderate sedation, vaginal deliveries.

**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical protocols, and population health strategies.
  • Engage in community education and outreach activities to improve endocrine health awareness.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the endocrinology service line.
  • Participate in shared call responsibilities (as applicable).

  • Medical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of adult medicine, human anatomy, and organ systems.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to analyze complex medical data to make accurate diagnoses.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and other medical professionals.
  • Problem-Solving: Critical thinking skills to solve complex diagnostic problems and manage multiple health conditions simultaneously.
  • Professionalism: Adherence to ethical standards and commitment to lifelong learning to stay updated on medical advancements.

## Qualifications
**MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:**
**Education:**

  • - - MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency.
  • Prefer ABEM/AOBEM Certified, BC/BE FP; IM; EM; AAPS (Will consider Non-Boarded with ER experience)
  • Must have Active NM license, DEA, & NM controlled substance registration
  • ACLS, ATLS, PALS if not ABEM/AOBEM Certified
  • Commitment to serving a rural, underserved population.
  • Strong communication skills and dedication to patient-centered care.
