## Phlebotomist

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
- - Collect and process venous and capillary samples from all patient age groups.
- Perform and document therapeutic phlebotomies.
- Document and record samples/results.
- Accession and process referral testing samples.
- Maintain records, files and route patient reports.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned.
- Participate and promote QA activities.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:**
- - Phlebotomy skill and competency.
**AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES:** Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.

**ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS:** Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
## Qualifications
**MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:**
- **Education** – High school graduate or equivalent; formal phlebotomy training preferred.
- **Work Experience** – 6 months phlebotomy preferred.
- **Training –** N/A
- **License/Certification** – Certified Phlebotomist, CMA, EMT-B preferred.
