About The Role

## Description

The tool maker's primary purpose is to ensure tools and dies are built, maintained and repaired in a timely fashion. The tool maker reports directly to the tool room foreman for assignment of duties and is expected to track and document all work performed.

Responsibilities for Tool Maker

Operate tool room equipment safely and efficiently and in accordance with OSHA standards and company procedures

Perform extensive die maintenance such as rebuilding die sections, inserts and forms and engineering changes on all types of dies, fixtures, gages or other tooling needs

Read and understand specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions, and visualize product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts, build tooling, and meet customer requirements

Demonstrate good short and long term decision making in these areas

Press Room troubleshooting

Diagnosis of problem and courses of action

Tool Room machining practices

Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to OSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.)

Participates in continuous improvement activities

Assumes other duties as directed by management

Shift

Day shift Monday - Friday 6am-4:30pm. (Saturdays as needed)

Pay

$25 - $30/hr based on experience.

## Qualifications

Requirments

  • 5+ years of tool and die biulding experience
  • Experience in construction and tryout of hard and soft tooling
  • Knowledge of ISO preferred
  • Lathe and CNC experience
  • Blueprint reading
  • Some CAD experience preffered
  • Prenotch and stamp die experience.
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours a day
  • Able to lift more than 50 pounds
