Position Summary

Christian High School is seeking a passionate and qualified Home Economics Teacher to join our faculty. This individual will teach practical life skills courses — including nutrition, cooking, sewing, budgeting, and family living — while integrating a biblical worldview into instruction and mentoring students in godly character.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Home Economics curriculum covering cooking, nutrition, sewing, home management, and personal finance
• Integrate biblical principles and Christian values throughout coursework
• Maintain a safe, well-organized classroom and kitchen/lab environment
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, encouragement, and service
• Participate in school chapel, prayer, and other spiritual life activities
• Collaborate with fellow faculty on interdisciplinary projects and school events
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration

## Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Education, or related field (required)
• Teaching certification/licensure preferred
• Prior teaching or relevant professional experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Genuine love for working with high school students
• Agree to the Christian Unified Schools of San Diego and Shadow Mountain Community Church Statement of Faith and Christian Lifestyle Statement
