The Host / Hostess position is an opportunity to build valuable experience in upscale hospitality while playing a key role in creating an exceptional guest experience from the moment guests arrive.

As the first point of contact for our guests, you will help set the tone for their entire visit. You will manage reservations, seating, waitlists, and guest flow while working closely with servers, managers, and other Front-of-House team members to ensure smooth and polished service.

This role is also a strong starting point for individuals interested in developing a career in hospitality. Team members who demonstrate reliability, professionalism, strong guest service skills, and a commitment to learning may have opportunities to develop toward future Front-of-House roles,and other advanced service positions.

**Job Responsibilities

Guest Service & Hospitality**

• Greet guests promptly, professionally, and with genuine warmth.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the designated system.
• Escort guests to their tables while ensuring proper rotation for servers.
• Provide accurate wait-time estimates and communicate effectively with guests.
• Respond to guest inquiries about the restaurant, menu, and services.

**Operational Excellence**

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, and entrance area.
• Manage menus and promotional materials at the front desk.
• Monitor guest flow and communicate seating needs with servers and managers.
• Support service flow by assisting with table resets when needed.

**Brand Standards & Teamwork**

• Uphold Kaluz’s image of sophistication, professionalism, and hospitality.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu, including features and promotions.
• Assist the FOH Manager and servers in ensuring seamless guest service.
• Foster a positive and team-oriented environment by supporting staff as needed.

**Qualifications, Education, & Experience:**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility successfully. This person must present a neat appearance and have a warm, cheerful personality. • Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor in line with Kaluz’s standards.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Physical Demands:**

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to move quickly and safely through the dining room and lobby.
• Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
