The Lifeguard plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and dynamic aquatic environment. This individual is responsible for clearly communicating pool guidelines, proactively guiding members away from unsafe situations, and championing the safe and enjoyable use of the pool.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

• **Minimum Age:** 15 and a half with a valid work permit.
• **Experience & Skills:**
• Prior swim experience required.
• Experience in customer service and aquatics preferred.
• Excellent communication skills essential.
• **Certifications:**
• YMCA, Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
• First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
• Completion of in-water skills swimming and skills test required.
