Upstate Veterinary Specialties is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician/ Medical Technologist to join our newly established in-house veterinary laboratory in Latham, NY. If you’re ready to apply your laboratory expertise to help diagnose and treat animals in need, this is your opportunity.
**What You’ll Do:**
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic laboratory testing on small animal specimens
- Conduct analyses in clinical chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, blood bank, and microbiology
- Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality test results to support patient care
- Maintain laboratory equipment and uphold strict quality control standards
- Follow established laboratory protocols, compliance guidelines, and safety procedures
- Collaborate closely with veterinary clinicians to support diagnostics and treatment decisions
**What We’re Looking For:**
- Associate degree (or higher) in a related field required
- ASCP certification preferred, with at least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience (preferred but not required)
- Candidates without ASCP certification must have at least 2 years of experience in a physician clinic laboratory or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory practices across multiple disciplines (chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank)
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to accuracy and quality
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- New York State licensure (CLT, MT, or CLS) preferred but not required if experience criteria are met
**Schedule:**
- Day Shift (Full-Time): Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
