## Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Event Support’s primary objective is to assist the service team by providing continuous support for their event needs. The Event Support keeps all areas clean by clearing glassware, polishing silverware, wiping chargers, stocking and maintaining bathrooms, bussing, running trays, and overall venue maintenance. Event Support assists servers in delivering food, refilling water glasses, set up, table maintenance, and maintaining service areas. Event Support performs ongoing tasks necessary to ensure quality service. Each team member is expected to assist when and where necessary during an event ensuring flawless execution. The Event Suppport will be expected to perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Product

  • Ensures all work areas are set up and maintained according to standards.
  • Observes guests to respond to any additional requests and to assist Servers tableside.
  • Clears cocktail room at conclusion of Cocktail Hour.
  • Maintains clean and organized service areas.
  • Knowledgeable of event timeline to ensure optimal support.
  • Exhibits constant sense of urgency throughout ·event, including set up and break down. •
  • Works in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports any unsafe conditions to

their supervisor.

  • Adheres to all job relevant manuals, checklists, and standard operating procedures.

Inventory and Equipment

  • Properly stores and handles inventory and equipment.
  • Informs managers when inventory is low or non-existent.
  • Informs managers when inventory and equipment is damaged or not working properly.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in service areas and on floor.

Customer Service/Guest Interaction

  • Informs manager of difficult or emotional customer situations.
  • Responds promptly and courteously to customer needs.
  • Observes and acknowledges guest needs before request is made.
  • Greet guests in friendly, professional manner.
  • Engages guests using 5 -10 rule.
  • Responds positively and promptly to requests for service and assistance.

Employee and Management Interaction

  • Establishes and maintains effective relations with both co-workers and managers.
  • Balances teamwork and individual responsibilities
  • Gives and welcomes constructive feedback.
  • Puts success of team above personal interests.
  • Actively participates in meetings when requested.

## Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Education: High school diploma or GED

Work Experience: 1 – 3 months related experience and/ or training

Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating aud maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers.

Mathematical: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10;s and 100’s.

Reasoning: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Freedom from illegal use of drugs and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT

(Frequency of mobility, lifting, climbing, standing, siting, reaching, speaking, vision, color vision, outdoors/indoors, noise level, fumes/odor, chemical exposure or any other environmental hazards)

  • Prolonged periods of standing, climbing/balancing, stooping/bending.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Requires ability to communicate clearly and concisely using the English language with guests.
  • Ability to sustain long periods of loud noise and vibrations
  • Use of color vision and vision.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment including exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow.
