POSITION: Adjunct Faculty
DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Teacher Education
PAY RANGE: $450 - $1,300 per semester credit hour (SCH). Faculty are contracted per SCH. Actual compensation within this range is determined by factors including academic credentials, relevant professional experience, discipline, and course enrollment. Courses with lower enrollment may be prorated within this range in accordance with university policy.
QUALIFICATIONS: PhD or EdD in Education or related field preferred; Master’s degree with substantial professional experience required. K-12 experience and knowledge of restorative justice in education are strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: To serve as an adjunct faculty member for the Undergraduate and/or Graduate Teacher Education program(s), teaching up to 9 credit hours per semester. Include the following:
- Teaching opportunities may include EMU’s campus in Harrisonburg, Virginia or online courses consisting of asynchronous instruction and/or synchronous instruction.
- Graduate Teacher Education courses include restorative justice in education (RJE) offerings.
- Undergraduate Teacher Education courses include instructional methods courses and practicum placement supervision.
- APPOINTMENT DATE: Courses begin September 2026. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
