## Position Summary

The Landscape Foreman plays a hands-on leadership role in transforming yards into lasting outdoor spaces. This position leads a small crew through complex landscape installations while mentoring team members, solving problems in real time, and delivering high-quality results that reflect Sunnyside Gardens’ standards.

This is a physically demanding, fast-paced role—but for the right person, it’s deeply rewarding. You’ll see your work take shape every day, lead a team that relies on you, and help create landscapes people will enjoy for years.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Owner and General Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily landscape installations including planting, grading, hardscapes, and specialty features
  • Accurately interpret landscape designs and communicate details clearly to crew members
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners, representing Sunnyside Gardens with professionalism and care
  • Train and mentor Landscape Crew Members on proper installation techniques, efficiency, and safety
  • Set the tone through dependability, strong work ethic, and calm leadership—even on demanding days
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, inventory tracking, and tool care
  • Troubleshoot challenges in the field and adapt plans as needed to keep projects moving

## Qualifications
## Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on landscaping experience
  • At least 2 years in a leadership, foreman, or crew lead role
  • Experience operating equipment such as bobcats, sod cutters, or similar machinery (preferred)
  • Experience with hardscapes and water features (strong plus)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record

Position Type & Classification

Seasonal, non-exempt position eligible for overtime in accordance with FLSA.

Physical & Environmental Demands

This role requires frequent physical activity including standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), kneeling, reaching, climbing, pushing, and pulling. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, sun exposure, humidity, noise, and exposure to soil, plants, and landscaping materials. Strong manual dexterity, visual awareness, and clear communication are essential.
