**JOB PURPOSE**

The Assembly Line Lead oversees the daily operations of the assembly line, managing and supervising Level 1, 2, and 3 Assembly Associates. This role is responsible for ensuring production goals are met, quality standards are maintained, and all processes are executed efficiently. The Assembly Line Lead acts as a bridge between management and the assembly staff, ensuring that work orders are completed on time, materials are available, and team members are trained, motivated, and aligned with company objectives.

**RESPONSIBILITY**

**Supervise Assembly Operations**

  • Oversee daily operations of the assembly line, ensuring production targets are met.
  • Supervise Level 1, 2, and 3 Assembly Associates, guiding them in task execution, performance standards, and alignment with company goals.
  • Monitor employee attendance, performance, and address any issues, including recommending disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Provide mentorship and training to associates, ensuring continuous skill development and engagement.

**Production Planning and Scheduling**

  • Manage daily assembly schedules, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of finished assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Communicate production expectations, updates, and schedules to associates and relevant departments, including production supervisors and quality teams.
  • Monitor and release work orders, reviewing and closing them to prevent operational delays or material variances.

**Material Management**

  • Ensure raw materials are available on the assembly line, working closely with the inventory and purchasing teams to resolve material gaps.
  • Maintain close coordination with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure a steady flow of materials into production.

**Quality Control and Improvement**

  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure assembled products meet quality standards.
  • Lead efforts to identify process improvements, enhance product quality, and reduce waste.
  • Address quality issues as they arise, providing feedback and corrective guidance to assembly staff.

**Cross-functional Collaboration**

  • Maintain open communication with management, engineering, and purchasing to align production goals and operational plans.
  • Provide input on material availability and scheduling constraints, working cross-functionally to resolve issues.

## Qualifications
**QUALIFICATIONS**

  • 3-5 years of experience in assembly line operations, including leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of assembly processes, production planning, and quality management.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience.

**Knowledge**

  1. Assembly Processes: In-depth understanding of assembly workflows, tools, and techniques.
  2. Production Scheduling: Expertise in managing assembly schedules and work orders to ensure timely production.
  3. Material Management: Strong knowledge of material flow, inventory, and raw material handling.
  4. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with production management software for managing work orders, planning data, and material inventory.
  5. Safety Compliance: Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working with engineering, purchasing, and quality teams to meet production targets.
