Part Time Seasonal Lifeguard

## Description

Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all swimmers and pool patrons at our facility. This position requires constant vigilance, excellent physical fitness, and strong communication skills. The lifeguard maintains a safe aquatic environment by monitoring water activities, enforcing safety policies, and responding promptly to emergencies.

## Key Responsibilities

• Monitor swimming areas continuously during all assigned shifts using established scanning techniques
• Enforce facility rules and safety policies in a professional and courteous manner
• Respond immediately to water-related emergencies with appropriate rescue and first aid techniques
• Maintain equipment in proper working condition, including rescue devices and first aid supplies
• Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate observations to management
• Educate patrons about pool rules, water safety, and proper facility use
• Keep the pool area clean and organized, performing basic maintenance tasks as assigned
• Verify that only authorized individuals access the pool area
• Supervise pool capacity limits and manage patron flow during peak hours
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a safe and welcoming environment

## Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
• Current CPR/AED Certification
• Current First Aid Certification
• Must be at least 15 years old
• Strong swimming ability and water safety knowledge
• Clear background check
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

## Working Conditions

• Shift-based schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Outdoor pool environments with exposure to sun and chlorine
• Frequent standing, walking, and use of whistle communication
• Must wear the required uniform and safety gear
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Occasional exposure to wet conditions and water activities
