**Position Summary**

The role of the Driver reports to the Center Manager. This position, under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator, will be responsible for safely providing transportation services to PACE participants.

**Essential Position Responsibilities**

  • Ensure vehicle operation is conducted in a safe manner and all state motor vehicle operator regulations are fulfilled
  • Actively monitor safety precautions when driving to ensure participant safety
  • Perform safety checks of vehicles as required and ensure vehicle is properly maintained
  • Ensure safe escort and care of participants at all times
  • Provide basic life saving measures to participants in the event of emergency
  • Assist participants with safely entering and exiting vehicle

**Qualifications**

  • **Education:** High school diploma or GED
  • **Licensure and Certifications:**CPR, required. Driver’s license and auto liability insurance, required.
  • **Experience:** Previous experience with transporting the elderly population, required. Previous direct patient care experience, preferred.

**Work Environment**: This position will spend 80% of work time sitting while operating a motor vehicle. This position will spend 20% of work time standing and/or walking frequent short distances and pushing, pulling and/or lifting 50lbs. This position may be exposed to bodily fluids. This position must possess the ability to work independently and effectively with the geriatric population, including those individuals with a diverse ethnic and cultural background.
