The **Allegheny County Mobile Competency Restoration Program** provides treatment to individuals for competency restoration both in the community and in the jail setting.

---

We are currently seeking a **full-time Certified Forensic Peer Specialist/Counselor**to join our team in **Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.**

---

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the **Certified Forensic Peer Specialist/Counselor**is responsible for providing support, guidance, and mentoring patients in a jail and/or a community setting to meet service delivery requirements of the Allegheny County Mobile Competency Restoration and Support Team (MCRST).

**Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm**

## Qualifications
**QUALIFICATIONS:**

• Current certification for Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) is required.
• Experience working in a psychiatric hospital, behavioral health or correctional facility preferred.
• Knowledge of mental health peer support services.
• Knowledge of the recovery process and how it applies to individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of the criminal-legal system.
• Knowledge of community supports.
• Ability to interact well with varied levels of managerial, clinical, custody, court, and administrative staff in correctional and community environments.
• Must be able to work independently, set and meet deadlines, ability to work from home and demonstrate productivity.
• Ability to document paying attention to detail.
• A valid automobile driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance, and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work is required.
• Active in-person CPR certification required along with current tuberculosis screening.
• Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance (Act 33/34 Clearances are required and ability to pass Allegheny County background check including drug testing).
