We are currently seeking a **Full-Time Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)** to join our leadership team at GA Diagnostic & Classification State Prison (GDCP) in Jackson, GA.

## **Position Summary**

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) provides operational oversight and direct supervision of nursing and support staff within a large, secure correctional facility. Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON ensures the consistent delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient nursing care across a high-volume intake environment.

This position requires a leader who can **make decisions quickly, enforce expectations consistently, and maintain stability under pressure**. The ADON plays a critical role in maintaining clinical operations, supporting staff performance, and ensuring adherence to all institutional and regulatory standards.

## **Key Responsibilities**

• Supervise and support nursing and support staff within a secure correctional environment
• Ensure delivery of care in compliance with Centurion policies, GDOC regulations, and security procedures
• Maintain staff accountability, performance standards, and workflow efficiency
• Collaborate with providers, mental health, and custody teams to support daily operations
• Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling oversight, and coverage planning
• Respond to clinical and operational issues in real time, ensuring continuity of care
• Provide direct and indirect patient care as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting
• Reinforce safety, infection control, and institutional protocols consistently

## **Qualifications**

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or compact license | Must be active
• Current CPR certification | Must be active
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required
• Ability to obtain required security clearance, including drug screen and background check
