**Body Shop Painter**
**Job Summary:**
The Painter is responsible for refinishing damaged vehicle body parts and entire vehicle bodies in line with factory and dealership quality standards and timelines.
**Key Responsibilities:**

• **Equipment Operation & Safety:** Operate and use all body shop tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• **Surface Preparation:** Remove rust, grease, and dirt from surfaces to prepare for painting.
• **Masking & Protection:** Mask and protect areas of the vehicle not being painted or coated.
• **Filling & Smoothing:** Fill cavities and dents with putty to ensure a smooth surface for painting.
• **Paint Mixing:** Mix paint to specifications, ensuring accurate color matching.
• **Painting Application:** Apply paint using spray guns or brushes as required, achieving a smooth, even finish.
• **Quality Inspection:** Inspect painted surfaces for runs, sags, and unpainted areas to ensure high-quality results.
• **Wax Coating:** Heat and spray wax onto products post-testing to ensure durability.
• **Tool Maintenance:** Maintain tools and keep equipment clean and in proper working condition.
• **Work Area Maintenance:** Keep the work area clean and organized.
• **Safety Compliance:** Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, and follow manufacturer recommendations for use.
• **Regulatory Adherence:** Follow all laws and regulations concerning hazardous materials, such as paint and thinners, and report any non-compliance to management.
• **Collaboration:** Work with other team members to repair and prepare vehicles for painting.
• **Compliance Awareness:** Stay informed of federal, state, and local regulations impacting body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know guidelines.
