## Description
**Purpose of the Position:**
Wildwood Family Clinic, an independent, physician owned practice is looking for candidate for our two busy, outpatient family medicine clinics. This position works collaboratively with our family physicians and other allied health staff to provide all aspects of high-quality patient care for our patients. The physical therapy aide works under the direct supervision of the physical therapist and the physical therapy manager. This position requires an ability to perform a wide variety of patient care activities, including but not limited to: certain clerical duties, limited housekeeping tasks, and assisting the therapist with any necessary procedures on patients including infants, children, adolescents and adults including geriatrics. Cross training is required, as staffing needs dictate. This position is involved in the coordination of patient care activities with outside providers, insurance companies and serves as a liaison between patients, physical therapists and medical providers.
**Essential Functions:**
- Initiates patient contact and directs them to the appropriate treatment area, asking the patient to change into the appropriate attire.
- Assists in scheduling and maintenance of appointments, utilizing computerized scheduling. Prepares daily charts with encounter forms, progress notes and any other pertinent paperwork.
- Conducts patient triage according to clinic protocol.
- Requests patient charts, x-rays or reports via computer or phone as directed by the physical therapist.
- Assists the physical therapist with therapeutic modalities and procedures as requested.
- Assists in the maintenance of medical records and obtains appropriate signatures on forms when required.
- Assists in the orderly and efficient flow of patients.
- Assists in preparing patient charges for processing.
- Assists the physical therapist in completion of various medical forms.
- Assists the physical therapist with patient/ family education and training.
- Keeps an inventory of stock supplies needed and orders accordingly.
- Prepares, stocks, and cleans patient care areas to enhance patient care and efficiency.
- Operates equipment and performs therapy procedures as directed by the physical therapist.
- Follows infection control protocols regarding patient treatments and room maintenance.
- Conducts proper biohazard waste disposal and follows WFC Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan.
- Executes scheduled cleaning maintenance of equipment and informs physical therapy manager of needed repairs.
- Works collaboratively with insurance companies to initiate referrals, and or obtain approvals, prior authorizations, for medical care and treatment.
- Coordinates patient care activities and documentation with outside providers (MD, x-ray)

## Qualifications
**Qualifications:**
- Certificate/Degree/License Requirements: None
- Experience Requirements: Preferred 6 months’ experience in a medical practice environment focusing on anatomy/physiology, but not required.
- Education Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all professional interactions.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and other clinical documentation software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
