The Small Blend/Straight Fill Compounder is responsible for the correct weighing, bagging, and mixing of materials per formula sheets. This position will weigh, mix, and stage all compounds for each production order.
## Qualifications
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Review the job order for compounding and packaging requirements.
- Look up QC approved stock (on computer) and retrieve required raw materials.
- Checks materials for color odor and other characteristics, following formula instructions for the compound
- Identify any material shortages and Notifies supervisor of missing raw materials needed to complete batch.
- Communicate with Material Handlers to pull materials from warehouse stock
- Select and bring appropriate pot or tank to work area
- Label tank with order # and customer label
- Accurately pour raw materials per order specified weights using scales.
- Involved in all areas of processing compounds: mixing, filtering, heating, sampling, and chilling
- Prepare sample of mixed ingredients for testing of ingredient specification and product odor/color
- Inspects exterior and interior of containers before filling and handling
- Packs out approved batches and labels all finished product containers.
- Able to clean pots/tanks and other equipment
- Maintains clean and safe work area, and adheres to safety regulations and procedures, understanding the hazards of handling the various chemicals.
- Follow all safety rules/procedures and maintain an accident and on-the-job injury free record
- Compliance with all relevant GMP and SQF procedures and regulations
- Take directions from the Production Lead or Supervisor.
- Support the company in achieving established performance and operational goals.
- Perform all other duties and tasks assigned.
**Education & Experience:**
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Basic Math and use of computers
- A minimum two years of production experience as an Order Filler, Material Handler, or Compounder
- Utility or, equivalent experience in the Flavor & Fragrance Industry.
**Skills and/or Physical Requirements:**
- Basic computer skills
- Must be capable of physically standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time
- Capable of lifting/carrying on the average of 50 lbs Computer usage skills, math for measurements, and record keeping organization skills
- Use of: hand trucks, drum trucks, air mixers, and pumps
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
