**Position Summary**

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care and personalized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community setting, ensuring their health, safety, and welfare.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Understands, supports, and advocates with people we support by helping them achieve their vision of a good life.
• Identifies, documents, and shares concerns and successes as appropriate.
• Transports and accompanies people to activities, appointments, and community events.
• Helps with personal care tasks as needed.
• Assists with money management by promoting independence and budgeting skills.
• Administers medications in accordance with state guidelines and training.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

## Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
• Ability to safely complete one-person physical transfers required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Required clearances: Act 33 (Child Abuse), Act 34 (Criminal Record), and FBI Background Check.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six (6) months of start date.
• Must pass Medication Administration certification within two (2) months of start date.
• Must complete all training requirements associated with the Direct Support Professional position.
