**Position Summary**
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care and personalized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community setting, ensuring their health, safety, and welfare.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Understands, supports, and advocates with people we support by helping them achieve their vision of a good life.
- Identifies, documents, and shares concerns and successes as appropriate.
- Transports and accompanies people to activities, appointments, and community events.
- Helps with personal care tasks as needed.
- Assists with money management by promoting independence and budgeting skills.
- Administers medications in accordance with state guidelines and training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
## Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely complete one-person physical transfers required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Required clearances: Act 33 (Child Abuse), Act 34 (Criminal Record), and FBI Background Check.
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six (6) months of start date.
- Must pass Medication Administration certification within two (2) months of start date.
- Must complete all training requirements associated with the Direct Support Professional position.
