**Position Summary**
The Training Specialist provides training oversight to Achieva Support employees. This role develops, implements, and monitors training materials as mandated by government regulations, funder standards, program operations, and agency initiatives to ensure strict training compliance. Reports directly to Achieva Support’s Compliance Training Manager (and directly to the Vice President of Quality & Compliance in the manager's absence).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Supports the achievement of an individual's personal outcomes, success, and inclusion in the community.
- Adheres to Achieva and Achieva Support policies, procedures, mission, and core values.
- Orients and trains new and current Achieva Support employees and management staff on an ongoing, annual, and as-needed basis.
- Develops, implements, and monitors training materials for Achieva Support employees as mandated by regulations, funder standards, program operations, and agency initiatives.
- Provides guidance and adult learning accommodations to employees as needed.
- Serves as an advocate and liaison for the people supported at Achieva Support.
- Reviews training report forms and competency exams to evaluate and establish employee understanding of materials.
- Tracks and ensures personnel meet all regulatory, agency, program, and credentialing training requirements prior to service delivery and throughout their employment.
- Conducts ongoing and random record reviews to ensure compliance, reporting non-compliance in a timely manner.
- Prepares and submits comprehensive training and compliance reports to management and external audit teams.
- Confers with the Compliance Department to survey and identify training needs based on process changes and regulatory updates.
- Monitors and participates in the distribution of training courses through Achieva Support’s Learning Management System (LMS) and other platforms.
- Informs program management of personnel and training requirements; collaborates with department leaders and external stakeholders.
- Promotes professional development and internal/external training opportunities through newsletters and communications.
- Maintains current knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design best practices, and county, state, and federal regulations/licensing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
## Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Social Science, or a related field, and/or two (2) years of training experience combined with industry experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Effective interpersonal, motivational, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Google Docs, Google Sheets, LMS platforms, etc.).
- Position requires local travel between Allegheny and Westmoreland offices, as well as occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and access to a properly insured vehicle available for daily work use.
- Required clearances: Act 33 (Child Abuse), Act 34 (Criminal Record), and FBI Background Check.
