## Description
**MINIMUM AGE:** 18 years
**SPECIAL NOTE****:** Work prior to and shortly after major elections
**DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES****:**
A Voting Assistant performs Election tasks that include the conveyance and recovery of voting equipment and supplies utilized in federal, state, and local elections held within the City of Dearborn. The employee could work up to nine months a year on an intermittent basis and is scheduled as elections occur. In addition, the employee may perform related work as required, such as customer interface at the City Clerk counter.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive medium size vehicles.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects. (Must be able to lift up to 40-pounds)
- Ability to occasionally climb and work while on a ladder up to 3 feet.
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and other employees.
- Some work experience in packing and assembling supplies.
- Some knowledge of computers
