## Description
# **OVERALL GOALS**

  • Quality, Cost & Delivery: Ensure all procurement aligns with Aquafil USA’s operational standards for price, quality, lead times, and reliability.
  • Supplier Relationship & Risk Management: Cultivate a diverse vendor network to drive competitive pricing, mitigate supply chain risk, and secure alternative sourcing for critical components.
  • Inventory Optimization: Balance inventory levels using Min/Max controls to minimize carrying costs while maintaining 100% operational uptime across manufacturing lines.
  • Cost Reduction & Market Intelligence: Track market trends and global supply dynamics for raw materials and packaging to negotiate optimal terms, lower company overhead, and protect gross margins.
  • Inventory Accuracy & Organization: Direct daily cycle counts along with mid-year and year-end physical audits; partner with Maintenance and Production to organize spare parts storage by process, machine type, and section.
  • Equipment & Fleet Management: Lead vendor evaluations and lease negotiations for fleet vehicles, trailers, and lift trucks to secure cost-effective capital equipment solutions.
  • Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Oversee vendor audits and internal practices to maintain strict alignment with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards.

# **Essential Responsibilities and Duties:**

  • Review and approve purchase orders for Cartersville, GA facilities within established financial limits (up to $500 initial authorization; route higher-value transactions for secondary approval).
  • Identify, suggest, and implement alternative materials or suppliers when facing supply chain disruptions or obsolete parts.
  • Partner with the CFO and Director of Operations to manage the decommissioning, resale, or scrap disposal of obsolete capital assets in accordance with asset register protocols.
  • Supervise, mentor, and direct the daily activities of Purchasing Agents and Clerks to maintain high service levels and complete inventory record integrity.
  • Manage department administrative workflows, including payroll timecard approvals using PayCom.
  • Participate in cross-functional production, maintenance, and project planning meetings to anticipate short-notice material and component requirements.
  • Actively champion Aquafil’s Recycling Guidelines and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) policy across all procurement and vendor operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing department to eliminate process bottlenecks and ensure workplace safety.

# **ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITY**

  • ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with SAP purchase order workflows, inventory modules, and approval hierarchies.
  • Office & Payroll Systems: Proficiency in Google Workspace, standard office software, and HR/payroll tools (PayCom experience preferred).
  • Inventory Controls: Working knowledge of Min/Max stock management systems, safety stock calculations, and strategic warehouse organization.

  • Technical Purchasing: Strong familiarity with common industrial electrical and mechanical spare parts, equipment specs, and sourcing channels (including hard-to-find or legacy machine components).
  • Manufacturing Processes: Sound understanding of manufacturing operations, production lines, and maintenance workflows to effectively gauge material needs.
  • Vendor & Asset Sourcing: Proven ability to evaluate supplier performance, negotiate lease terms, and engage with capital asset liquidators/used machinery buyers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills to work alongside internal teams, plant maintenance, and third-party contractors on complex projects.
